Alonso joined ISA in August of 2004. He is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin (UT) where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Studies, as well as a Latin American Studies degree with a concentration in Business and Economics. He spent the first several years of his life growing up in northern Mexico. Eager to return to Mexico, he later studied abroad at the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico City in conjunction with his studies at UT. Alonso had the opportunity to travel throughout Mexico and to observe the many cultural and regional differences that make the country so intriguing. Alonso enjoys traveling, working out and spending time outdoors, among other things. His travels have also led him to the Caribbean, specifically the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. Alonso feels it is necessary to motivate others to explore different cultures whether it be for leisure, business, or better yet, to study abroad. Traveling abroad allows us to get a real, inside look at how people live throughout the world and gives us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in their cultures. Alonso is a firm believer that experiences like these will indubitably enhance our view of the world and of each other.
