Brian Pirttima

LPI Program Director in Austin, United States

Brian Pirttima is currently the LPI Program Director in Austin, Texas. Brian graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, with a major in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. During his undergraduate studies he played college basketball and participated in an international basketball tournament in Santiago de Chile after his freshmen year. He also spent the summer after his junior year studying in Salamanca, Spain. Brian received his M.A. from the University of Richmond where he concentrated on the U.S. influence in Latin America during the 20th century. In 2000 he was awarded a Rotary International Ambassadorial scholarship and spent a year studying at the Universidad de Deusto in San Sebastián, Spain. Since his scholarship year Brian bounced between Mexico and Spain. In León, Mexico he taught for several years at the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey’s bilingual preparatory school and while in Spain he received a post-graduate degree in Educational Organization from the Universidad de Barcelona.
