Jay BartlettiStudy Abroad Advisor in Austin, United States![]() Jay joined ISA at the beginning of 2007 and works as a Study Abroad Advisor. Born and raised in San Diego, CA, he began traveling internationally at a very young age (since Mexico was only 30 minutes from home). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Latin American and Iberian Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his tenure at UCSB, he participated in a language intensive summer program in Morelia, Mexico. This experience opened his eyes to life beyond the border towns, to the dynamic and colorful cultures of Mexico. In his desire to learn more culturally and linguistically, his senior year he studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain. After living with Spanish peers, playing collegiate ‘futbol’, he fell in love with traveling and cultural immersion, and knew he would one day work with study abroad. After working for a couple “.com” start-ups, in 2003, Jay embarked on a 16 month dream trip through 9 countries in South America. After living out of a backpack for over a year, Jay returned to the U.S. to pursue a Masters Degree in International Education at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Jay is passionate about study abroad and through ISA is helping to mold the future leaders of America into culturally sensitive, globally competent individuals.
