Bill Clabby

Executive Vice President Research and Special Programs in Austin, United States

Bill Clabby is Director of Research, overseeing a diverse range of research projects and outreach, as well as Customized Programs and ELAP. As an undergraduate at UCSD, Bill studied abroad at the University of Bordeaux. Upon graduation with a double major in Management Science and French Literature, he joined the Peace Corps with his wife, serving as a rural community development volunteer in Senegal. His career at the UCSD Programs Abroad Office began in 1990 as Opportunities Abroad Program Coordinator, and he later assumed the role of Director. He took a one-year leave of absence to teach in Japan. Bill loves foreign languages and speaks seven, with a special interest in the cultural sources of these languages. Bill has an M.A. in Postsecondary Educational Leadership with emphasis in Student Affairs from San Diego State University.
