Attention Pre-Med, Nursing, Pharmacy, Microbiology and Other Health Profession Students!Summer 5 Medical Spanish and Health Care in Costa Rica at Veritas University in San José, Costa Rica is designed for students at all levels of the Spanish language who wish to increase their Spanish proficiency with particular focus on health care and medical terminology! During this 5 week course students will participate in an 80 hour intensive Spanish for Health Professionals course which combines classroom work with hands-on communication experience. Students will also complete a 60 hour elective, called the Costa Rican Health Care System, which explores the the strengths and weaknesses of the country's socialized health care system and examines the specific health concerns of Costa Rica as a tropical country. The Summer 3 program with the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) is open to all levels of Spanish speakers! You will begin the 6-week session with a week long intensive Spanish language course and move on to electives in English or Spanish which will focus on Latin American studies and/or economics. All courses will be held at the Centro Universitario de Idiomas (CUI) and at the Centro Cultural Borges in downtown Buenos Aires. U.S. Passport Service Times Return to NormalThe Department of State announced September 7, 2007 that passport service has been restored to the standard six to eight week processing time for routine passport applications, and no more than three weeks for expedited service. In the fiscal year 2007, the Department has already issued 3.9 million more passports than in fiscal year 2006. the Department plans to expand passport facilities and continue to hire more passport specialists in order to increase production capacity and meet rising passport demand expected in coming years, as passport requirements are extended to land and sea borders.
