This experience has encouraged me to live a life with no boundaries and discover a love for traveling and the unknown. Amanda Bernacki, Northeastern Illinois University The coursework here is very individualized. Revising is a long process that needs to be taken very seriously. The level of difficulty was about the same as home BUT the style of teaching and assignments given is much different. Amanda Bernacki, Northeastern Illinois University There were so many excursions and the memories I will cherish forever. [The ISA staff] was a HUGE help to each and everyone of us and more than accommodating when in need. [She] was not only our study abroad director but a friend and advisor. ISA helped to cover the headaches of all the paper work and such that I would have had no idea how to go about. Amanda Bernacki, Northeastern Illinois University "ISA made my study abroad experience one I will never forget! I got to see and do more things than many people have the chance to in a lifetime. There is so much to see and do in London and without ISA leading the way during my 10 weeks I would have not done half of it." I felt safe, learned from a professor who was passionate about the subject matter, and had fun interacting with the other ISA students and local people." Carrie Wallis, Colorado Christian University "I spent the Fall 2008 semester studying at the University of Westminster in London. We felt so alone the first night in London and it was great to know that we were here with a group of people who are experiencing the same thing. It is great to know that someone is here for us. Kelly Ross, The College of New Jersey ISA opened so many doors that I never knew were even there to begin with. Kimberly Iverson, U of California, Santa Barbara "I found the program with ISA to be ideal because I was not limited to interactions only with the other students doing the same program. The city itself is beautiful, but what is even better are the amazing people who live in Cusco. Each and every person I met was so nice and so eager to help me whether it be with directions or just wanting to talk about where I was from. Every week a different excursion was planned that allowed us to see the different areas and cultures of Peru. I will never forget my trip to Puerto Maldonado; it was one of the coolest and most unique places I have ever visited. On the same note, I am still in disbelief that I was able to visit Machu Picchu and thousands of year old ruins left by the Inca. I am so happy I decided to spend a semester here!!" Whitney Breckenridge, Ramapo College of New Jersey "ISA was absolutely wonderful. The ISA office in Salamanca is closer to being a second home than a business office." Les Wilson, University of Wyoming "Deferring a semester before I started college to study abroad was the best decision I could have made. I learned far more in this term abroad than any of my friends at home in their first semesters of college." Magdalene Carter, Middlebury College "It was the best experience I could have asked for. Helpful directors, great people, beautiful city...What more could you want?" Maggie Burns, University of Denver "ISA is really the most incredible program I've ever worked with. From the school to the directors to my friends, it is the most incredible experience I have ever had. I highly recommend ISA to anyone who wants to study abroad." Maggie Stewart, North Carolina State University I would recommend this program to other students because ISA is very organized and available for students at all times. Matthew Dolamore "Spain and ISA are equally amazing. I can't decide what I will miss more, Spain or my directors." Michael Emily, University of Northern Colorado "Studying abroad has been one of the greatest experiences I have ever had! Michelle Liske "The people at ISA were very welcoming and made my year so much more relaxing and enjoyable. My year abroad changed my life and I think everyone should experience time in another country." Parker Knox, University of Tennessee-Knoxville "The ISA program was incredible. As fantastic as the excursions were, I think the strength of ISA lies in its people. The personal attention was amazing. I would recommend ISA to anyone studying abroad." Rachel Wagner, Grove City College Best summer of my life! Samantha Hunter, University of Michigan "ISA exceeded my expectations in all aspects. The staff is helpful and caring and everything is well organized. In addition, they encourage the students to practice and to develop their Spanish as much as possible." Sara Petruzzi, Arizona State University "ISA was better than anything I could have asked for and I would definitely recommend it to other students!" They go above and beyond expectations all the time!" Whitney McAlpine, Rice University San Sebastián"ISA was more than helpful in preparing me for my journey abroad. They provided answers to questions I didn't even know I had and I feel amply prepared for my study abroad program." Chelsea Tobias, University of Florida "ISA will certainly make sure students are prepared for their trip before departure. Representatives are enthusiastic and informative. I feel I can call them with any questions to receive helpful and prompt answers. Experienced international travelers and first-timers alike will appreciate the support provided by ISA." Erin Ternes, Hendrix College "I saw the most incredible places I would never think to visit on my own. I met people who will be life long friends. I took interesting and thought provoking classes that will go towards my major. I have a new appreciation for Spain and life outside of the US. I can't wait to go back." Erin Ternes, Hendrix College "Studying abroad has truly been a great experience. You can't experience life like this in the United States. You can read things about other countries, but you can't really understand until you go there and experience it for yourself. I strongly encourage people to study abroad, especially with ISA. They have amazing staff and everything is well coordinated. Studying abroad truly completes your college education." Mallory Rogers, Texas A&M University "I would recommend studying abroad to anyone, regardless of their major. Being immersed in another culture was an incredible, eye-opening experience, and I learned so many things that could never be taught in a classroom. Choosing to spend five weeks in Spain has been the best decision of my life and I would do it again in a second." Megan Gross, Gannon University SantanderI will never forget this experience for the rest of my life. I grew up in Santander, made incredible friendships, saw unbelievable sights, and experienced a new culture. I would not trade this experience for anything. I do not want to return to the United States!" Brittany Catanach, University of Denver "ISA not only helped me to improve my Spanish language abilities, but to understand and become comfortable in a foreign culture. Thanks to my amazing homestay family and opportunities such as "intercambios" I was able to fully experience what Spain had to offer." And the staff was very helpful and welcoming; it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget." Kristin Mitchell, Texas Tech University "Santander is everything I was looking for in an experience abroad: a beautiful city with lots of life, an abundance of new and exciting things to do, and amazing people that really made the experience special." Laura Chatfield, Southwestern University "ISA opened my eyes to a culture that has beautiful history and wonderful people. There is no better way to achieve your studies than being in Spain with such an awesome group of students and leaders." Lela Aberg, University of Kansas Sevilla"Studying abroad was hands down the best experience of my life. I was excited to improve my Spanish and be immersed in Spanish culture, but I did not expect the magnitude in which the ISA experience has changed my life. Not only do I have a better understanding of a language and a culture, I feel as though Sevilla, Spain is my home and the students and staff who were a part of the program are my family." Anonymous I absolutely fell in love with Sevilla and I will never forget the things that I learned inside and outside of the classroom. I don't think I would ever be able to have progressed as much as I have here in Spain with my Spanish speaking skills at my home university. Going abroad is an incredible opportunity. It's a big risk and it might seem kind of scary at first but trust me... it's worth it! Ashley Shaw "ISA was absolutely amazing! They provided me with a world-class experience. From my host family to my teachers to the excursions, I can't think of a single thing that I didn't absolutely love! They made things SO easy and fun!" Brock Schardin, University of South Dakota "I would recommend ISA to anyone looking to study abroad. You definitely get your money's worth: from the excursions, to the ISA staff's helpfulness, to the host family living arrangements (food, lodging, laundry services, Spanish practice, and genuine hospitality!) I had an amazing semester with ISA in Sevilla. It'll be bittersweet to leave here after having my eyes opened up to so much more of the world. I would do this semester again in a heartbeat." Christine Clawges, Westminster College My experience in Sevilla was truly one of a kind. Not only did I achieve personal growth, I also learned to appreciate other cultures and understanding of the world. This trip truly broadened my horizons and I have made best friends that will last a lifetime. Everyone was so nice and helpful, I could not have asked for a better program staff. Jenny Rath, Grove City College The time I spent in Sevilla with ISA is probably the best three and a half months I will ever experience in my life; I made wonderful friends, adapted to a new culture and improved my Spanish. Malia Campbell, University of Denver "For me, going to Sevilla was mainly about becoming fluent in Spanish. My Spanish communication skills improved but I got so much more out of it than I expected. Most importantly I learned how to handle myself when I'm in a new place and everything is foreign to me. As I began to embrace the Spanish culture the culture embraced me as well and that made for an unforgettable experience!" Melinda Exume, University of Florida This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The city of Sevilla itself is beautiful and just the right size. I enjoyed the slow-paced life of southern Spain and the wonderful culture that accompanies it. Nicholas Mader, Texas A&M University ISA greatly influenced my time abroad in Sevilla. The Austin and Sevilla staff were beyond helpful in all situations. I enjoyed my experience abroad with ISA. Raquel Eufracio, Texas A&M University Studying abroad has been one of the most challenging, exciting, and rewarding experiences as a student. You learn so much about yourself, this world, and achieving your goals as an individual. While it may be hard at times, you learn to rebuild and reconquer negative feelings into positive ones. Sarah Byerly, Westminster College (PA) I had an incredible experience in Sevilla. I made great friends, learned so much about the Spanish culture and also about myself. ISA was a great program that I would definitely choose again. Sarah Hahn, University of Denver This experience changed my life. I not only learned about a different culture, but learned a lot about myself during the semester I spent in Sevilla. The city is amazing, and the friends I made will last a lifetime. My only regret is not having stayed longer. Tania Hewett, UCLA "Studying abroad in Sevilla was one of the best decisions I've made. I loved the small town feel the city provided, even though it is a decently large size. Life in Sevilla never became dull, the locals are great, and I loved my home stay. I had fun, met friends for life from all over the US, and became fluent in Spanish. ISA was a great program to study abroad through as well because the staff abroad is extremely helpful and genuinely enjoy meeting their students. Studying Spanish in Sevilla through ISA is VERY recommendable and I would love to direct anyone with words of advice." "The ISA Sevilla staff helped make my experience abroad the best possible. They helped me take advantage of everything the city and study abroad has to offer." I am so glad I chose to study abroad in Sevilla, because the city was beautiful, there were so many new experiences to be had, and the ISA staff was amazing! I recommend this trip to everyone. ISA is a great program that helps you completely immerse yourself in another culture. ValenciaEveryone hopes they are picking the right country, the right city, and the right program, and it's hard to do from thousands of miles away. ISA was the best choice I feel I could have made and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have an amazing time abroad and a great support system at the same time. Alivia Olson, University of Tulsa "ISA was instrumental in the organization and execution of my study abroad trip. The on-site directors were fantastic, and seemed to care about each one of us. They even had all our names memorized when we arrived!" Anonymous It's obvious why ISA has been so successful for 20 years; they have it right. This is the most organized, reliable and effective study abroad program I have seen or heard of. Caroline Ball, University of Alabama I had a fantastic experience with ISA. The directors were approachable and fun, while at the same time very knowledgeable and organized. I would go through ISA again and tell all my friends to do the same. Christina Stark, University of New Hampshire Studying abroad was the best decision I could have made as a college student. I came back to the states feeling great about everything I had accomplished abroad. Not only did the students in my ISA programs become friends I'll most likely have for a lifetime, I developed amazing friendships with people around the world. Jayme Satterwhite, University of Kentucky My experience in Valencia was wonderful! I met so many interesting people, Spanish, American, and from many other countries, which really made my semester abroad unforgettable! Katlyn Nasseri, University of Louisville ISA Valencia is extremely well-run, with a very loving and caring staff. I couldn't have asked for more! Ross Walker, University of Wisconsin, Madison I had a great time doing ISA, I also did their high school study abroad program LPI and I had great experiences on both. I met people that will remain my friends for the rest of my life, and I created such a bond with the cities I lived in. I recommend this to anyone. Savannah Stait, UT Austin "Going abroad is the best choice I've made in my college career. Not only did I learn a language, the culture of a fantastic country, and earn school credit, but I made friendships I will keep forever and I learned more about myself as well." | |
