I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Survey course on Contemporary Latin American Literature. The course will consider:
●selected narrative and poetry texts.
●Intensive reading and analysis of paradigmatic poems and short stories.
●Brief references to the biographical and cultural background will be given to help the student understand the historical problems faced by the authors.
II. GENERAL OBJETIVES
●To develop the ability to analyze contemporary fiction and poetry.
●To inquire about the objectives of literary work: conflicts between ethic and aesthetic values.
●To develop a better appreciation of a short story or poem by knowing the cultural background of the author.
III. SPECIFIC OBJETIVES
●To identify form and context in the writing of fiction,
●To be able to identify writers through their style.
●To be able to write about specific contents in a formal style, based on a core topic
