This program is designed for students at the beginning or low intermediate level of Spanish language proficiency. Students who have completed two semesters or less of college-level Spanish may participate. All classes are taken at the Viña del Mar University with other international students. Courses focus on Spanish language and Chilean culture, grammar and composition, and phonetics and pronunciation. All students may also choose to participate in Cultures in Contact, a hands-on cultural exchange course.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Viña del Mar. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the Spanish courses in which the student is eligible to enroll.
