Semester Spanish Language and Culture Program - Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso

This program is designed for students at the intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish proficiency. Courses include Spanish Language and Culture, Written Spanish, Grammar and elective courses with Chilean and international students. Students take courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, mostly with other international students.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

For intermediate and advanced level Spanish speakers. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Valparaíso. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the Spanish courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Chile having completed two semesters or the equivalent of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate level courses. Students who arrive having completed four semesters or the equivalent of college-level Spanish will likely place into the advanced level courses.
