Note: A placement exam will be required when you arrive on site.

High Intermediate

This course is designed for students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of three semesters (or five quarters) of college-level Spanish. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.

OBJECTIVE: Make a comparative study of the cultural-religious environment in which
Christianity was born into in order to discover the novelty of its message

CONTENT: 1. The Fullness of Time. Brief description of the roman and Jewish
environments at the time was Christ was born
2. Historical personality of Jesus. Historical sources about his existence. Brief chronology of his life
3. The foundation of the Church and the expansion of Christianity. Apostolic mission of Peter and Paul
4. First Christian communion and his liturgical
5. The Heretics of Antiquity and the first of the Councils
6. The polemic pagans and the first Christian writers
7. The persecutions of the Christians and the Edict of Milan

METHODOLOGY:
-Expository classes open to dialogue and participation
-Development of a basic historic and theological level of the topics
