SummerSpanish Language & Latin American StudiesPontifical Catholic University of ValparaísoSummer 1 2012 (May 16, 2012 to Jun 23, 2012)Catalog Code: IVPU1112 This program is for students at the intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish proficiency. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Valparaíso. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the Spanish courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Chile having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into intermediate-level courses. Students who arrive in Chile having completed two full years of college-level Spanish will likely place into advanced-level courses. Advanced-level students choose from two of the five courses available per summer session. Intermediate-level students will take only Spanish Grammar, and Chilean Culture & Conversation. All courses are held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso and are instructed by host university faculty. Classmates are international students. Students may choose to participate in a back to back program combining Summer 1&2 sessions for a discounted cost. Contact ISA for more details.
