Intensive Month

January Spanish Language and Chilean Culture - Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso

The Intensive Month program is designed for students who want to focus on language acquisition. The January session offers beginning, intermediate and advanced level courses, including Spanish grammar and Chilean culture, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso. Advanced level students may also take literature and/or a Social Themes of Chile course. All classes are taken with international students and are taught by Chilean professors. Please note that the Intensive Month program price does not include airport pick-up, drop-off, or excursions.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

For beginning, intermediate and advanced level Spanish speakers. All students must take a language placement exam upon arrival in Valparaiso. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Chile having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into intermediate level courses. Students who arrive in Chile having completed two years of college-level Spanish will likely place into the advanced level courses.
