This program offers courses at the intermediate, advanced, and superior levels. All students will take a required Spanish language course, and then will choose either a Hispanic Culture and Civilization course or two electives. Students may enroll in overlapping summer sessions.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

Students must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Granada. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. This program is well-suited to students at all levels of Spanish language proficiency.

Students who have completed the following number of semesters/quarters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent typically place into the following language levels:
3-5 semesters (4-6 quarters) = Intermediate
5-7 semesters (6-8 quarters) = Advanced
7+ semesters (9+ quarters) = Superior

NOTE: Students who place into the beginning levels will be asked to switch to the Intensive Spanish Language Summer Program.
