Spanish Language and Electives in English; Classes with Costa Ricans - Inter-American University

Spanish Language and Electives in English; Classes with Costa Ricans is designed for students at all levels of Spanish! At the Inter-American University, students will take a combination of Intensive Spanish Language courses and Electives in English. Advanced and superior level students will also be able to take courses with Costa Ricans in a variety of interesting subject areas. These areas include but are not limited to Communication, Education, Architecture and Business Administration. Advanced and superior students may also opt to take Spanish-language courses and/or electives should scheduling permit. Classes are taken with local and international students.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

Students wishing to take Classes with Costa Ricans must have an advanced level of Spanish language and must have completed or tested out of a minimum of 5 semesters or 7 quarters of college level Spanish.

Students are placed according to the number of semesters/quarters of college level Spanish they have taken. Students needing to take a course at a level higher than the number of semesters/quarters they have had, will sign a release acknowledging their intent to take a course not suggested for their particular language level.
