The semester program is offered at the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT). The program offers courses at the intermediate and advanced level. Under the semester program, students select three to four courses or 180 hours from the following categories: Courses with Costa Ricans, General Electives (with ISA students) or Spanish Language Courses (with ISA students). Depending on your language level, you may select any combination of courses to complete your four choices. Students taking advanced level courses may take all 4 courses with Costa Ricans.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

Students must have a minimum prerequisite of two semesters (3 quarters) if they will be taking the intermediate level courses with ISA students and a minimum of five semesters (7-8 quarters) if they are taking the advance level courses with the locals. Advanced students may take all courses with the locals or they may take choose a mix of courses with locals and courses with ISA students, or all courses with ISA students.

Students must have a 2.5 GPA. Students who arrive in Costa Rica having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely take intermediate-level courses. Students who arrive in Costa Rica having completed two years or more of college-level Spanish will likely take advanced-level courses or Courses with Costa Ricans.
