Spanish Language and Culture at Veritas - Veritas University

Students may select from two sets of dates and will be able to complete one 60, 80, or 90 hour course per summer session. Most courses focus on Spanish language instruction, but there are also several courses designed for more advanced Spanish students. Summer 4 offers Spanish for Health Professionals which is available only to students who are majoring in one of the following areas: pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, microbiology, and other health professions. Classes are at Veritas University with American and other international students.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

For beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Beginning - no language requirement. Intermediate - 2 semesters, 3 quarters of college level Spanish or the equivalent. Advanced - 4 semesters, 6 quarters of college level Spanish or the equivalent. Superior - 6+ semesters, 9+ quarters of college level Spanish or the equivalent. Summer 4 students wishing to take Spanish for Health Professionals must be majoring in one of the following areas: pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, microbiology or other health professions.

All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in San Jose. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll.
