This course enriches the study of the Spanish language with themes of History, Literature and Ecology, each of which are two weekly hours for a total of 24 hours.
With a practical and communicative method, this course treats the most complicated syntactic and morphologic aspects. Emphasized is the oral and written forms of Spanish. With the satisfactory completion of this level, the student will be able to express their ideas and opinions in Spanish in a fluid manner, both orally and written.
Contents
Week 1
General review of grammar within texts with emphasis in the comprehension of the linguistic functions of each structure.
a.) Classification of verbs: copulative, predicative, transitive, intransitive, nominal, and pronominal (direct and indirect- transition verbs)
b.) Enclitics: direct, indirect and circumstancial complements.
c.) The verbs and the individual ( verbal periphrases in different tenses: venir “to come”+ gerund, acabar “to finish” + gerund, seguir “to follow”+ gerund, etc.)
2. General review of the indicative tense and its uses:
a.) Simple verbs
b.)Compound verbs: (study the regular and irregular participles)
3. General review of the subjunctive tense and its uses (including the legal use of the future).
4. Study of the process of exposition writing.
a.) Types of introductions
b.) The narrative expressions of transition
c.) The conclusion
Exercises for the preparation of the first draft.
*Distribution of the writing of an informative report or interview date for the writing of a report.
Week 2
1. Practicals with prepositions and study of classification: separable prepositions, components, prepositive particles, prepositive phrases. (All the prepositions and some expressions such as: debido a “due to”, mas de “more than”, romper a “break with”, estar harta/o “to be fed up with”, estar acostumbrados a “to be accustomed to”, a pesar de “in spite of”, en exceso “in excess of”, estar seguro/a de “to be sure of”, preocuparse por/de “to worry about”, estar cansada/o de “to be tired of”, quedar en “to agree to”, para si mismo “for oneself”, por si mismo “for oneself”, de si mismo”for oneself”, de manera/forma que “so that”, con el proposito de “in order to”, etc.)
2. Review of adverbs and study of their function and classification: place, mood, tense, order, quantity, affirmation, negation, comparison, doubt.
3. Sintactic analysis of texts beginning from the study of the classification of simple sentences: according to significance, declarative, interrogative, dubitative, exclamatory, imperative.
a.) According to the nature of he verb: copulative, predicative, predicate, transitive, intransitive, passive, direct and indirect reflexive
4. Study of the writing process of the definition. The four techniques of definition: synonym, example, etymology. Thematic speech.
5.Work with a type of audiovisual source.

Week 3
1. Sintactic analysis of texts beginning with the study of the classification of compound sentences:
a). Juxtaposition
b). Coordination: copulative, disjunctive, adversative, distributive.
c). Subordination: substantive, adjective, circumstancial.
2. Morphology: study of composition, change, and parasynthesis.
3. Study of the process of analysis and classification writing
4. Work with a an audiovisual source (news and indirect style)

Week 4
1. Study of homonyms.
Review of conditional sentences.
Introduction to the use of other tenses.
