Time-travel is possible! Students will explore the quaint town of Cesky Krumlov, which has kept its medieval spirit and artistic traditions. Founded in the Middle Ages, Cesky Krumlov is nestled within a horseshoe bend of the Vltava River and surrounded by the hiking trails of the Sumava hills in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. You will be introduced to the art of hand-crafted puppets and diverse architectural jewels for which this town is known. Among its other points of interest are the Cesky Krumlov castle (2nd largest in the country), the Baroque theatre, beautiful Baroque-style gardens and various music and art festivals. Cesky Krumlov was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
