DESCRIPTION

This course takes a panoramic view of Dominican letters of the 20th century, with special attention to poetry and narrative, in order to appreciate the Dominican imagination, the socio-cultural relationship, and the aesthetic and spiritual literary values expressed in the texts.

OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a panoramic view of literature in order to appreciate the expression of the imagination and sensibility, with features of the cultural idiosyncrasy of the Dominican people.
2. To study narrative and poetic creation in order to develop the interpretive capacity, feeling, and aesthetic emotion.
3. To become familiar with the principal authors and Dominican literary movements through the study of its representative texts, with the purpose of appreciating the link between literature, language, and the cultural reality of the Dominican people.
