Spanish Language and Latin American Culture - Pontifical Catholic University "Madre y Maestra"

This program offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced level Spanish classes. Students at the beginning and intermediate levels will enroll in an Intensive Spanish language course focusing on Spanish grammar and conversation offered by the Spanish for Foreigners program at the Pontifical Catholic University. Advanced level students will take courses in Caribbean culture and literature in addition to Spanish grammar and composition. All classes are taken with other ISA students and are taught by Dominican professors.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

For beginning, intermediate, and advanced level Spanish speakers. Students must have a 2.5 GPA. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Santiago. The exam will indicate each student’s language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll.
