Windsor

Location: England

Windsor is a small town 25 miles west of London and is the location of Windsor Castle, the world's oldest inhabited castle, dating back to the time of William the Conqueror. It is said that the royal family considers its home to be Windsor Castle rather than Buckingham Palace; in fact, Queen Elizabeth II spends many weekends here, preferring to host both state and private banquets at the castle. Only open to the public in the last 15 years, the castle offers a tour consisting of state rooms and corridors filled with suits of armor and remnants of ancient battles. Once outside the castle grounds, take a walk around the quaint town and enjoy lunch in one of Windsor's many charming cafes and tea houses.

This is a one-day excursion.
