Fine Arts Summer Program

Summer 1 2009 (May 29, 2009 to Jun 27, 2009)
ISA Paris
Catalog Code: IPRU1109

This is a unique five-week opportunity to discover Paris through the arts and language. The program is a perfect match for one who seeks a study abroad experience with art courses taught in English. French language is also available, but not mandatory. While French courses take place in the classroom, art courses step out into the city, as professors lead students through museums and monuments of interest, relating foundations of art to the students' own work.

All Fine Arts courses, with the exception of "Painting in Plein Air," do not have any prerequisites and are open to all students. Students wishing to take "Painting in Plein Air" must have completed a college-level drawing class or the equivalent of. French courses are available from beginning through advanced levels.

Students may choose to focus solely on art by taking two art classes, or they can combine one art and one French course. Art classes, designed specifically for the Fine Arts program, are taken with other students participating in the program. French classes are taken with other international students.

Please note that French classes will be taken at either the Sorbonne or the Catholic University of Paris depending on language level placement.
