High Beginning
This course is designed for students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of one semester (or two quarters) of college-level French. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.

Overview

Objectives:
-Discover what shapes the collective memory of the French from the Gaule to the Republic
-Acquire a base vocabulary in history

Program:
-The great events of the history of France
-The great historical French figures

Grading:
-Homework + 2 exams

(Note that the level "high beginning" on ISA's website is equivalent to "elementary" at the Catholic University of Paris)
