Beginning
There is no language prerequisite for courses at this language level. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.

Overview

Objectives:
1. To improve comprehension of spoken French.
2. To learn to pronounce written French and to record spoken French.
3. To correct and improve pronunciation and oral expression.

Contents:
1. Presentation of French sounds in order to recognize and identify them in every position.
2. Study and practice of the International Phonetic Alphabet.
3. Articulation and intonation.
4. The function of the French phonetic system.
