Overview

This course teaches students about managing the world's environment and will address a wide range of issues which include ecosystems, energy, water quality, pollution, biodiversity, sustainable development, soils, and wildlife conservation. Much emphasis will be placed on the development of students problem-solving strategies. Questions of environmental degradation will be addressed on the global level, with additional focus on conservation issues and procedures in Italy and Tuscany in particular. Outdoor project work forms an integral part of this course.
