Overview

The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to the history of philosophy, through a consideration of different issues, methods, and perspectives related to the question, “What can philosophy say about men, society, and the relationship between them?”

Three periods will be considered: Antiquity, Early Modern, and Modern. In these contexts, the primary texts of the history of philosophy will be examined, in order to study their different approaches and answers to the problems considered.
