Overview

The course will focus on Kant’s ethics and pursues two complementary goals, namely to provide a global integrating view of Kant’s pure practical philosophy and to provide students with the necessary means to differentiate Kant’s formalism with other alternative ethics. The study of Kant’s Critique of Pure Practical Reason (1788) is foreseen as well as a comparison with another equally influential work in practical philosophy, namely Kant’s Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals (1785).
