Crossing Cultures

The following activities are often available in Rome, offering opportunities for students to participate in and learn about Italian culture:
A guided visit is organized to the area surrounding the Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, and the Coliseum. Also, you encouraged to explore the Roman Forum and imagine the streets as they were in the days of the Roman empire.
Students will be taken on a guided walking tour of the Trastevere area, their home while in Rome, and given background on its medieval history. Students can also visit the nearby Vatican City, just a short walk away.
In addition to tours of art galleries (Borghese Art Gallery and the Vatican museum), students will be taken on a guided walking tour throughout Piazza Navona area, in the heart of historic Rome, and given background on its baroque history.
Italian cooking lessons with ISA staff will be organized for students every Thursday.
Language and culture exchange with Italians (scambio linguistico-culturale) are arranged to give students the opportunity to interact with local Italians of the same age.
ISA Students can join the AUR's sport teams. The AUR basketball and soccer teams regularly play against local Italian universities, giving students a great opportunity to interact with Italian students.
