The Garden Entrance of the American University of Rome

ISA office, the AUR, and housing neighborhoods

The ISA office and The American University of Rome are located in Monteverde, and many ISA student apartments are located in the Trastevere, Gianicolense, and the Monteverde areas of Rome. Trastevere is named for its position on the Tiber River, just opposite the heart of central Rome. It is well-known for having retained its narrow, winding streets when the rest of Rome began its nineteenth-century expansion.

All of the program's apartments are located in the adjacent areas of Trastevere, Monteverde, and Gianicolense, all desirable residential neighborhoods. These three neighborhoods are located on the west side of the city, just south of Vatican City. Compared to other parts of Rome, they have less noise and traffic, more green areas, better access to public transport, and are conveniently located just a short distance from the historic center of Rome. A $500 refundable housing deposit will be charged to students living in Rome apartments. Apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, a computer with internet access, a landline telephone, and a washing machine.
