How do I get around?

Buses:
Buses go virtually anywhere they are physically capable of going, and vary in quality. City buses usually cost two to three pesos.

Taxis:
If you’re in a hurry or have a lot of luggage, take a taxi but always agree on a price first. They are usually very easy to find. Before you get into the car, you should tell the driver where you want to go to make sure they know how to get there.

It may be more expensive than you think to travel by taxi on a daily basis. Most foreign countries have excellent public transportation. If traveling by day and you’re not in a hurry, it is definitely worth it to walk or take the bus. When hiring a taxi, request in advance the fare to be paid for your destination. Don’t be alarmed if you don’t see a meter, taxis in Mexico usually don’t have them.

If necessary, you can arrange to have a cab pick you up at your house for an extra cost. Most excursions will have a planned meeting place in Guadalajara and will not leave from the bus station. You are responsible for your own transportation to the meeting place when participating on ISA excursions.

Walking:
Another way to get around in Guadalajara is walking. Although the city is quite large, you may find it easier to walk to nearby destinations during the day than to take public transportation.

**SUMMER STUDENTS ONLY**

To and From
Students living with host families or at the hotels will be picked up between 7:30 and 8:30 am by private USD buses from a bus stop located within walking distance from their home. All other students are responsible for their own transportation to and from school. The ITESO campus is accessible by two city bus routes. More city and bus information can be obtained at the ITESO main gate. Students may also take taxis to and from school.
