Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level Spanish at their home university in the U.S.

The student will be given short writing assignments that will allow them to gradually develop their writing skills, eventually allowing them to write fairly complex essays and to focus on the three fundamentals of the essay: prewriting, writing, and post-writing. Themes we will focus on in this class will be the description of things and ideas, the description of processes and events, the development of an argument, and the essay.
