GuanajuatoSemester / Trimester:Spanish Language and CultureFall 1 2008 (Jul 27, 2008 to Dec 6, 2008) Michoacan: Uruapan and Paricutín![]() Tzaráracua Waterfall Students will visit the waterfalls of Tzaracua and Tzararacuita located outside of the city of Uruapan. All nights are spent in the city of Uruapan. On Saturday, students visit the Purepecha village of Angauan, where the local population still use their native tongue of Purepecha, and the women still use their traditional clothing. From the village, the group begins the ascent to ruins of the Parangaricutimicuaro church which was destroyed the last time the still-steaming Paricutín Volcano erupted. Afterwards,the group will continue up the trail towards the crater; this entire journey is done on horseback. On Sunday, students visit the National Park of Uruapan and visit the ancient ruins of Tzintzuntzán. Other excursions for Spanish Language and Culture Fall 1 2008 | |
