Alma graduated with honorable distinction from the University of Guanajuato (UG) in 1988 where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in philosophy. She went on to receive a Master's in Business Administration from the same institution in 1993. Since graduating, Alma has been actively teaching in the fields of philosophy, research methodology, and Spanish language. She initially began teaching at the high school level, and in 1990, began instructing at the university level. Throughout her career, she has consistently participated in teacher training and education. For Alma, enriching her education has always included learning new languages. In addition to her native Spanish, she speaks French and English. Prior to joining ISA, Alma worked five years as the UG's Administrative Director and ten years as the Coordinator of Spanish Instruction at the University of Guanajuato's Escuela de Idiomas, or School of Language.
