Note: A placement exam will be required when you arrive on site.

Intermediate

This course is designed for students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of two semesters (or three quarters) of college-level Spanish. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.

High Intermediate

This course is designed for students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of three semesters (or five quarters) of college-level Spanish. However, students must take a placement exam to determine the course level into which they will be able to enroll.

Mexico is one of the countries that is made up of a cultural diversity. This diversity includes all the ethnic groups and the rural and urban societies. The main purpose of this course is for students to learn about institutional structures of Mexican cultures (social, political, economic, religious, and educational). Students will learn concepts about their origins, development, ways of functioning and their effects on national projects. Some of the topics the course will deal with are cultural diversity, Mexican social problems, cultural institutions, national projects, Mexican folklore and identities.
