Overview
This course deals with the development of Mexican literature during the 20th century. We will view this development from the perspectives of continuity and rupture. The course sets short stories in the context of the historic process of Mexico. Some of the authors we will read are Mariano Azuela, José Revueltas, Juan Rulfo, Carlos Fuentes, and Elena Poniatowska.
