The city of Meknès (population 680,000) resides in plentiful agricultural plains at the base of the Middle Atlas Mountains. As a whole, Morocco has the most diverse geographic landscape in North Africa. Beautiful beaches, snow-capped mountains, and seemly endless desert will provide visitors with a varied array of surroundings and activities.

Climate

The climate of Morocco greatly mirrors the geographic diversity that spans the country. Meknès resides in the North Central region at 1,890 feet, and the climate is largely determined by the towering Middle Atlas Mountains that shadow the city. Rainfall in the country is at its highest in this region, yet summer months are almost dry.
