MeknèsOrientation InformationStudents participating in a semester program will fly into Granada, Spain where they will meet their ISA Meknès resident director and the other ISA students for the initial orientation of their semester. During the four days spent in Granada, students will take witness to the Arabic influences seen throughout the city while also gaining a brief introduction to Spain's history and culture and the relationship it has shared with Morocco. After the initial orientation and excursion in Granada, students and their resident director will travel together to Algeciras, Spain, crossing the Straight of Gibraltar to Tangier, Morocco, and continuing on to their program host city of Meknès. Students participating on ISA summer programs will fly into Casablanca where they will meet their ISA Meknès resident director and the other ISA students. While in Casablanca students will participate in their first ISA excursion, staying overnight in Casablanca prior to making their way to the program host city of Meknès. During these initial days, the ISA resident staff will provide students with additional information regarding health and safety, housing accommodations, academics at Moulay Ismail University, and adjusting to life as an international student in Morocco. Additionally, Moulay Ismail University will host a welcome reception and provide students with city and university orientations before beginning their coursework. | |
