Summer

Courses with Locals in English - Florida State University-Panama

ISA offers three separate summer programs in Panama. Courses are taught by Florida State University- Panama faculty. Classmates are local and international students. Summer 1 and Summer 2 students will receive 6 semester credits or 9 quarter units. Summer 3 students will receive 12-16 semester credits or 18-24 quarter units. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a transcript issued by FSU.

The ISA Panama summer programs are for students of all levels of Spanish proficiency. All students in Summer 1 and Summer 2 may choose two of the three courses instructed in English. Only advanced level Spanish-speakers may enroll in the Advanced level Spanish courses. Summer 3 students have a large variety of courses to choose from and may also enroll in courses offered during the Summer 1 and 2 programs.

Gap Year Students: If accepted to this program as a Gap Year student, you will be classified as a special (non-degree seeking) student. After completion of this program, if you were to apply for degree-seeking status at the Florida State University, up to 15 semester hours earned as a special student may be applied toward an undergraduate degree only with the approval of the appropriate dean at the time of reclassification.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

In order to be eligible for this program, applicants must be degree-seeking students at their home university.
