Pachacámac

Location: Peru

Pachacámac is one of the most important pilgrimage sites of the Americas,
located 19 miles south of Lima on the Pacific Ocean. During pre-Inca times
thousands of pilgrims brought their offerings to the site to worship the god
Pachacámac, considered the creator of the universe. Over the centuries, many
different cultures left their mark on Pachacámac's complex of pyramids and
temples. ISA students will also have the opportunity to visit the nearby town
of Villa El Salvador, and the ecological reserve of Pantanos de Villa.
