Lima

Culture Corner

ISA and Peruvian students study and get to know one another outside of their classes.

ISA Office, UP, PUCP, USIL, and Housing Neighborhoods

The main ISA Lima office is conveniently located across the street from the University of the Pacific (UP) campus, in the centrally-located district of Jesús María. Another ISA office is located on campus at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).

At the ISA office you may visit with the ISA staff, receive tutoring, utilize academic and other resources, and check the ISA bulletin board for upcoming ISA, community, and cultural events. The ISA staff will make sure that you have complete access to university resources, including the computer lab and wi-fi area.

As a large city, Lima offers ISA students a variety of housing options, including traditional families, non-traditional families, and shared international student housing. Each student is sure to find a comfortable living space based on his or her own preferred lifestyle.

If you choose to stay in a homestay, you may be sharing a bedroom or host family with another ISA student. If you elect to live in fully-furnished apartment or house, where both international and Peruvian students live, you will have your own bedroom but share common living areas. Some homestays and student housing include internet access.

Homestays and international student houses are located in nice districts of Lima near the University of the Pacific (UP), the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the University of San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), or are conveniently located near public transit routes. Students may need to use the transportation system in Lima if their homes are not within walking distance of the universities. For more information on public transit in Lima, please see the transportation section.
