Late March Orientation ORIENTATION ISA #1 SAFETY, TRANSPORTATION AND HEALTH UP Academic Orientation and Confirm Class Registration Late March Orientation ORIENTATION ISA #2 HOST FAMILIES, CULTURE AND HISTORY WELCOME DINNER Late March Orientation ORIENTATION ISA - UP Spring Late March Excursion Included Excursion to El Silencio Beaches 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Late March Classes Classes at the UP begin. All weekends are free except for the organized excursions. Late March Excursion Included excursion to Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Early April - Early April Excursion Included one-day excursion to Lunahuaná. Late April Excursion Optional excursion to Ica, Nazca Lines, and Paracas. Late April - Early May Travel ISA Spring semester is officially over. Students may depart Lima or may stay and travel if they wish between semesters. Mid July Holidays Holiday Semana Santa, Holy Week, is the most important Catholic religious festival in South America. Celebrating the last days of Christ's life, the Crucifixion and Resurrection, as well as the end of Lent. Semana Santa is observed with a range of celebrations. Universities and ISA offices are closed during this time. Early April - Early April Holiday May 1st is Labor Day in Perú - Workers get the day off, called Día del Trabajo in Spanish. Early May Holiday Saint Peter and Saint Paul - Observed by Roman Catholic, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. One of the oldest saints' days commemorating San Pedro and San Pablo. Late June | |
