Jane Torphy

Jane is from Little Compton, Rhode Island. In 2000, she obtained her undergraduate degree in Spanish Language and Literature at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. As part of her education at Bates, she studied abroad at the Universidad de la Frontera in Temuco, Chile, with Bates College in Cuernavaca, Mexico and at the Colby-Washington University program in Salamanca, Spain. The wonderful experiences she had abroad and her particular interest in Spanish culture brought Jane back to Spain to teach English in Sevilla for two years, before going on to earn a Master’s degree in Spanish at Middlebury College in Madrid. She has made Barcelona her home since 2004. Hiking and the ocean are her passions and she enjoys getting to know Catalunya through its people.
