This program is for Spanish students who would like to take a grammar and conversation course as well as a variety of Hispanic Studies culture classes. Students will take a required Spanish Grammar and Conversation course and then select five Hispanic Studies courses. All classes are taken at the University of Barcelona with American and other international students.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

For intermediate and advanced level Spanish speakers. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Barcelona. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one full year of college-level Spanish (or the equivalent) will likely place into the intermediate level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed two years of college-level Spanish (or the equivalent) will likely place into the advanced level courses.
