During the Academic Year program, students may take Spanish grammar and culture classes at the University of Barcelona (UB), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) or the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). Intermediate and advanced level courses will be offered at all three schools, while beginning level courses will only be available at the UPF and the UAB. Students at the UAB may take courses in English or Spanish and there are no required language courses. Students at the UPF will be allowed to take courses with Spaniards on a limited basis, including economics courses taught in English.

The Spanish Language and Culture summer programs at the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) and at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) accommodate students of all levels of Spanish proficiency. Students at both universities will take grammar and culture courses.
