Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of five semesters (or seven quarters) of college-level Spanish at their home university in the U.S.

General Description

This course is about the history of Spanish theater, taking the theatrical stage as a point of fundamental reference. Students will become familiar with the basic highlighted plays of the scenic Spanish theatre panorama from the 20th century.

Activities

General Overview of each theme, and class discussion. If the linguistic level of the students in class permits it, the lecture will examine a text about the subject as the topic for the discussion.

Commentary on the relevant plays of the 20th century Spanish stage.

Commentary and critique of some of the plays that can be found in the Granada booklet during the span of the course.
