The University of Málaga was founded in 1972 as a state institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science. After only 25 years, it has become the cultural center of the city and has an annual enrollment of nearly 40,000 students. Because of the wide range of academic subjects offered, the University of Málaga attracts students from all over the world, including Asia, Europe, and the United States.

ISA students on the Intensive Spanish Language, Spanish Language and Culture, and Hispanic Studies programs will take classes at the University of Málaga’s center for Cursos de Español para Extranjeros, which is centrally located in the city and very close to the ISA office. ISA students on the Studies with Spaniards program will take classes at the Teatinos campus of the University of Málaga, which is located in the northwest part of the city.
