Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of 2 upper-division college-level Spanish courses at their home university in the U.S.

The objective of this course is to give an overview of Spanish cinema within its respective historical context. It starts with the pioneers and silent films, through the Second Republic, the Civil War, the Franco regime, the transition period of the 70's, and finally cinema from the Democracy.
