Prior to enrolling in courses at this language level, students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of 2 upper-division college-level Spanish courses at their home university in the U.S.

This course is studied along the following topics which include: general aspects of Latin America, principal stages of Latin American economic development, the industrialization of importation, the crisis of external debt in the nineteen eighties, economic reforms, the problem of poverty, Latin American economic integration, the nineties.
