Regional Geography of Spain
60 hours of instruction

The objective of this course is to explore the distinct units and spaces that make up Spanish territory and the diverse dynamic elements that characterize its evolution and behavior. The political-administrative order and configuration of Spanish territory, the foundations of its diversity, the factors that contribute to its character and interpretation, the classification of the different areas and regional dynamics, and the internal organization. The evaluation consists of a final exam and critical essays concerning the following topics: 1) regionalization: the different delimitation, meaning, and interpretation, 2) evaluation and interpretation of regional inequalities in Spain, and 3) specific knowledge of the regional areas in Spain according to their landscape and structural spaces. There is also a final exam.
