PRACTICAL SPANISH GRAMMAR

OBJECTIVES

Analysis of the different aspects of Spanish grammar, fro mthe perspective of teaching it as a second language, with the objective of providing students a first encounter with this specific field of teaching and linguistic research.

EVALUATION

To pass the class, students will take an exam on the date determined by the Faculty. The exam, like the class itself, will be theoretical and practical in nature and the students should be able to demonstrate that they are capable of making use of the materials analyzed in class.

PROGRAM

TOPIC 0. Grammar for natives and grammar for foreigners. Grammar in
The Spanish as a Foreign Language class.

TOPIC 1. Verbs: value and use of the forms of the indicative.

TOPIC 2. Verbs: the forms of the subjunctive.

TOPIC 3. Types of phrases in Spanish.

TOPIC 4. Problematic aspects for foreigners.

TOPIC 5. A problem for natives, as well?
